Linktree is the default, and a default deserves a real comparison rather than a sales page. So we took all 99 features listed on Linktree's own pricing page in October 2026 and checked each one against what a Neroex page can do.
The summary is below. The parts where we lose are in the same table as the parts where we win.
The count
| Count | |
|---|---|
| Linktree features matched | 85 of 99 |
| Matched, and free here where Linktree charges | 44 |
| Not built, deliberately | 14 |
| Built here, not offered by Linktree at any price | 6 |
What it costs
Linktree bills in dollars. Starter is $6 a month, Pro $12 and Premium $30, all on annual billing, and monthly is higher again at $8, $15 and $35.
For an Indian creator that is roughly Rs 500 to Rs 2,500 a month, before the foreign transaction fee most Indian cards add. Over a year, Pro works out to about Rs 12,000.
Neroex is Rs 0, and there is no tier above the one you are on.
The 44 that are free here and paid there
These sit behind one of Linktree's paid plans and are simply on by default here. The full list is long, so these are the ones creators ask for most:
- Scheduling a link to appear and disappear on a date
- Animated and spotlighted links
- Password and code locks on a link
- Link collections with stack, grid, carousel and masonry layouts
- Redirecting your whole page somewhere else
- Auto-displaying your latest YouTube video or X post
- Removing the badge from your own page
- Custom link thumbnails
- Click and traffic analytics, kept for good rather than for 30 days
- UTM parameters on every link
- A web address of your own
That last one is worth pausing on. The words "custom domain" do not appear anywhere on Linktree's pricing page. They do not sell it at any tier. Beacons charges $30 a month for it. It is free here.
The 6 we have that they do not
These exist because they are what an Indian creator doing brand work actually needs, and an international link tool has no reason to build them.
A rate card
Per-deliverable pricing in rupees, with usage rights, exclusivity windows, revisions included, advance terms and turnaround. It is a page a brand reads before they write to you, which ends the price conversation before it starts. How to set those numbers.
A barter position
A field that states what you do and do not accept in place of a fee. In India a free product from a brand is taxable income under Section 194R, so this is not a preference, it is a tax position. No link tool built outside India has anywhere to put it. Why that matters.
A work grid with real numbers
Your best pieces with the view count on each one, and the brand credited where it was paid work. This is the part a brand screenshots and sends to their manager. What they are looking for.
A media kit that stays current
Built from the accounts you connect, so the follower counts are today's rather than from the day you last exported a PDF.
A brand enquiry brief
Not a contact form. Deliverables, budget and timeline, so the first message already contains the things you need in order to answer it.
Handle history
Change your handle and the old one keeps redirecting, and nobody else can claim it. If your QR code is printed on something, it keeps working.
The 14 we have not built
Published rather than hidden, because a comparison that only lists wins is an advertisement.
| Not built | The honest reason |
|---|---|
| Sponsored links, Shop checkout, Courses, Digital products | No payment rail in version one. No money moves through Neroex at all. |
| AI insights, AI profile image filter | Every call to a model costs money. Free would have to mean capped, and a capped AI feature is worse than no AI feature. |
| Instagram auto-reply, DM triggers | Needs Meta app review, and carries a real per-message bill. |
| Four-hour support guarantee | Human time is the one thing that cannot be free at scale. |
| Native mobile app | Responsive web first. |
Four of those 99 features genuinely cost money to serve: payments, human support, per-call AI, and heavy video. Everything else behind Linktree's paywall was a plan flag, and a plan flag costs nothing to remove.
That is the entire argument for free forever. Not generosity, and not a growth phase. The things that cost money are named, and everything else never cost anything to give away.
Where Linktree is still the better choice
If you sell digital products or take payments through your link page, use Linktree or Beacons. We have no payment rail and will not pretend otherwise until we do.
If you need a guaranteed support response within hours, pay for it somewhere. Our support is an email address and two founders.
If you want a native app rather than a web page, they have one and we do not.
Moving across
Paste your existing page on the import page and we rebuild it: the links, the titles, and the order they are in. One page per request, started by you, and logged.
Your old link keeps working while you do it. Nothing about moving requires you to take the other one down first.
Get your page. It takes about two minutes and there is no card.
Common questions
- Is there a free alternative to Linktree in India?
- Yes. Neroex is free with no paid tier above it, built in India for Indian creators. It matches 85 of the 99 features on Linktree's pricing page, and 44 of those sit behind a paid plan on Linktree.
- What does Linktree cost in India?
- Linktree bills in US dollars: Starter at $6 a month, Pro at $12 and Premium at $30 on annual billing. At roughly Rs 84 to the dollar that is about Rs 500 to Rs 2,500 a month, plus the foreign transaction charge most Indian cards add.
- What does Neroex not do that Linktree does?
- Fourteen things, and they are listed on this page rather than hidden. The main ones are anything that moves money, because there is no payment rail, per-call AI features, Instagram auto-reply, a four-hour support guarantee, and a native mobile app.
- Can I move my Linktree page to Neroex?
- Yes. Paste your existing page URL on the import page and we rebuild it, with the links, titles and the order they are in. It is one page per request and you have to start it yourself.
- Is Neroex really free forever, or just free for now?
- Four things on the list genuinely cost money to serve: payments, human support, per-call AI and heavy video. Everything else behind Linktree's paywall was a plan flag, and a plan flag costs nothing to remove. That is the whole basis for it, and it is why the four exceptions are published.
